Nordwich retro counter stools. A very appreciated vintage retro style.
Nordwich counter stools feature an aesthetic on the way between retro and vintage. Its sharp-finished legs are inspired by retro-style furniture so common in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Unlike Brighton retro high stools, which are made from a diamond-shaped upholstery, Nordwich counter stools feature an elegant false capitoné leather backrest.
What is the difference between capitoné and false capitoné?
The capitoné linked to the birth of Chester armchairs and sofas, is a handcrafted technique that is related to sophistication and elegance, only suitable for expert and patient hands, giving the piece a fluffy and sophisticated look.
The classic capitoné technique is performed with a single piece of fabric, fastened with buttons distributed on a regular basis. Wrinkles or folds that are generated between buttons and others make the required amount of fabric greater, increasing the cost of the part and the difficulty of upholstery.
But the capitoné can also be carried out in a less complex way by joining different pieces of square fabric, and the buttons are placed at the vertices; remaining the folds replaced by seams.
It is the technique of the false capitoné, with an equally elegant result and a more affordable cost that reverts to the final price of the piece.
