Everything has a great story… Everything has a history and that of bridges is also the chronicle of structural engineering. The great adventure of a society capable of facing the problems that often appear when creating such outstanding infrastructures.
Old railway bridges are now a historical heritage legacy.
Tunnels, viaducts, spirals and bridges built from explosives in hostile but unforgettable landscapes. Large structures needed to cross gorges or river valleys. Load-bearing superstructures whose lattice beams or trusses with elements joined in a triangle shape inspire a design as captivating as the legends of the old railway.
A design, a great story. Vau.
An industrial structure, a railway sleepers board…
Some of the centuries-old bridges, currently not operational, are located in new places as a permanent memory of railway history. The original design of the Vau table by Francisco Segarra was manufactured with original pieces recovered from the dismantling of some of these colossal iron bridges. The current model, an industrial design table, retains the essence of a heritage.
