Malakaña… Southern flavours and colours in a new tavern concept.
If there is a restaurant establishment that best represents Spanish gastronomy, that is the tavern concept that the whole world likes so much. Small, authentic, and very friendly bars where you can enjoy the traditional tapas, that unique and original culinary language.
Let’s go for tapas! A very common expression in any region of the peninsula… This social, cultural, and extremely ours practice endures over time without losing an iota of strength. And the best thing is that every day, more places are opened paying all the tribute it deserves.
From the south to the east… In a new tavern concept, Malakaña opens its doors to bring the best of Cádiz to the coastal city of Benicàssim. A tapas bar with an Andalusian soul, Valencian essence, and the vintage touch of Francisco Segarra.
Malakaña… Decoration, gastronomy and southern spirit.
The southern appeal and the Mediterranean character… It is that mixture that Jorge Lengua, owner and chef of the Malakaña gastrobar, wanted to transmit in the atmosphere of his place. A fusion of two cultures that when complemented, represent the most explosive of all Spain.
The whitewashed houses, the maritime aroma, the bustle of the bars, the southern accent… From the outside in, we can intuit the emblematic Andalusian origin. Cádiz is a place of contrasts and in Malakaña, you can breathe its atmosphere from the first moment.
An experience that invites us to feel the southern heat through gastronomy based on tapas and, through an interior design full of life with an unparalleled spark. Malakaña is culture, it is signature cuisine and it is art…
Origin, soul and emotion… A tapas bar designed with a lot of spark.
To carry out this new tavern concept, the designers of Tortola Design, renowned interior design studio of the city of Castellón, did not hesitate to merge the design elements to bring the south to the east and highlight the beauty of both cultures.
As brushstrokes, the striking exterior façade of the place winks at the most symbolic sites of the town of Benicàssim. And, when we enter the interior, the whole soul of Cadiz that welcomes us.
The blue of their skies, the white of their houses, the curves of their domes… In the colour palette and materials such as clay, tile or iron; the concept comes to life and transports us fully to the fervent streets of the liveliest city in the entire peninsula.
In the premises, you have some tapas standing, next to the bar or sitting on high stools. Its natural finish and braided seat remind us of the warmer sunsets and its design of curved wood and blades, the characteristic spark and originality of the south.
In the choice of seats, the designers of Tortola Design decided on the Stable Rusty stools by Francisco Segarra, a novel and creative handmade model that marks the point of warmth in the atmosphere.
Malakaña is origin, soul and emotion. It is a compendium of Hispanic sensations that enhance the greatness of the most typical restaurant establishments in our country. A wonderful interior design project that marks an ingenious point in the most current tavern concept.
