Bar La Prensa. A renewed approach full of symbolism.

In every business, there is a time when the need to renew interior design and decoration is evident. Although their service and business image remain the same, the reasons for this change are diverse: a need to adapt to new trends, to improve the customers’ experience or simple to refresh the look of the place.

Every new project is a new and different opportunity for Francisco Segarra’s interior design department, and going into the wonderful adventure of making a singular and significant concept come true is a challenge and a great pleasure. Our 100% FS designs are our greatest motivation and, when it comes to updating the interior design of a business with history, the process is exciting.

And that’s how we present the project of Bar La Prensa. A long-life bar that came to us with the purpose of changing its image, adopting a more symbolic and welcoming style. With the talent of our professional team and pieces from our catalogue of product, the place looks today a sensational interior design.

Inspiration becomes real…

The Gran Via area is the axis around which the tourist, cultural and recreational life of Madrid revolves, and it is where the bar we are presenting today is located. Specifically in the very short street dedicated to the journalist Miguel Moya and right next to the Palacio La Prensa. A 20th century building that housed publishing houses for years and which justifies the name of Bar La Prensa.

With more than 30 years in the service of Madrid residents and tourists, this restaurant establishment needed a change… Continuing to advance the business path with a renewed focus was the starting point of a project that culminated in a unique and symbolical space.

It was needed an environment that would aesthetically represent the roots of the brand. To do this, our interior design professionals took the idea from the outset, going back to the beginning of the printing and media industry, drawing inspiration from its charm to make it a reality.

What if the Bar La Prensa was in an old printing shop? The mobile prints and stamps would be the protagonists and guide us on the way through the different areas… This is how it was imagined the place, and it is the result of a design bar where tons of paper run through walls and ceiling and old typewriters wait patiently to type again new stories…

Furniture, tiles and vintage essence…

In this refurbishment they wanted to achieve a much more welcoming space, so materials, textures, colours and lighting play a main role.

The furniture was selected with the users’ comfort in mind and to convey the magic of those places that witnesses countless stories throughout centuries. Wooden or leather chairs, benches, wood and metal tables… A combination of pieces and materials that bring a very subtle industrial touch.

The floor combines wood-imitation tiles in most of the space with chessboard-inspired tiles that bring the vintage essence to the reserved room.

The sense of history and tradition wraps us from every corner of this place. Thanks to a magnificent lighting, you can appreciate even the smallest detail of this great interior design project. A significant change in the brand’s image and in the place’s atmosphere.
